Kitchen Remodel

A kitchen remodel project can make your daily life easier and more pleasant by improving the function and the look of the room. It also has a high return on investment when it comes time to sell your home.

Before you talk to us about a kitchen remodel, start by putting some lists together.

What You Need
  • Is your cooking space too small?
  • Are your appliances inefficient or outdated?
  • Is your counter space too dark to prep food safely?
What You Want
  • Do you want a space for the family to gather?
  • Do you think pull-out cabinet shelves are the best thing since sliced bread?
  • Would a safe spot to use your laptop be handy?

Next, consider the extent of your remodel. If you want to move walls and plumbing, gas, and electrical for a full-scale reconfiguration or even an addition, you will likely need a general contractor. This large-scale project dramatically increases the cost of your remodel and the time you will be without a kitchen.

A kitchen facelift with new kitchen cabinets, countertops, tile, flooring, lighting, and appliances might give you the bright, functional space you’re looking for without the bigger financial and time commitment. If your project ends up involving a general contractor, however, we can work with your GC to ensure a smooth selection process for your finishes.

A Designer’s Role in a Kitchen Remodel

When you are starting to get an idea of the scope of your kitchen remodel project, make an appointment to come see us. (Don’t forget to bring your lists.) We will get to know you and understand what you’re hoping to accomplish. One of a designer’s roles is to offer friendly guidance and direction to help you get the results you want and a kitchen you love. We’ll tour you around the showroom to give you a feel for what’s available and let us see what you like and don’t like.

We will then schedule a meeting at your home so we can see the project in its before state. We’ll take measurements and photos and ask a lot of questions so we can create a general budget for you based on the results you want and the amount you are comfortable spending.

Next, it’s back to the showroom where you’ll choose your cabinets, countertops, backsplash or wall tile, and flooring from our showroom based on the general budget. For your appliances, plumbing fixtures, and lighting, you will make your selections through catalogs, our subcontractors, and our local trade partners. We will finalize everything to give you your total cost.

We will take care of all the installation, so we will create a timeline with milestones for getting the work done. We will also ensure that the subcontractors stay on schedule and complete quality work so your new kitchen is finished when we tell you it will be.
